With a name that translates to “rough bark” it perfectly describes the feature makes
this a unique cultivar. However it takes roughly 5 years before it begins to develop its rough texture, once it does though
it becomes a plant that is sure to catch the eye. The new growth comes out with a yellow tint that turns green in summer time
and eventually a brilliant red, orange, yellow in fall. It is a small tree reaching 12’ tall and 10’ wide in about
ten years, its best to plant this where it can grow to size and have lower branches pruned to expose bark.
