Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Gold Rush'

‘Gold Rush' has soft, feathery, fern-like foliage that is a beautiful golden-yellow throughout summer and turns orange-brown in fall. Trees will typically grow about 12 feet tall over the first 10 years and eventually mature to 70-100' tall. It was found as a seedling in a nursery in Japan where it was named 'Ogon' and around 1993 Dutch horticulturist Peter Zweinburg brought it into Europe under the name ‘Gold Rush'.
