‘Wardii' is a hybrid yew crossed between Japanese yews (Taxus cuspidata) and English
yews (Taxus baccata) and is a low-growing, wide-spreading cultivar with a flat top that features pointed, linear,
dark green needle foliage. A slow grower that grows to 4 feet tall and 8 feet wide over the first 10 years, but will eventually
reach 6 feet tall and 20 feet wide. Plants are male and female with non-ornamental flowers (male are yellowish and female
are greenish) in early spring. Female plants have red, berry-like fruits with a single seed almost completely surrounded by
a fleshy red aril.
