Sotty Perry Hemlock originated from Shadow Nursery, and was given to Theodore Klein of Yew Dell Nursery
(now Yew Dell Gardens). Chris Summers took cuttings of it while Theodore was still alive and was told it rooted them at 100%.
The plants are a slow growing compact dwarf form, with a layered appearance. Growth rate is slow usually reaching about 1
ft tall and about 2 ft wide in 10 years. The original plants at Yew Dell are about 8 ft tall by 12 ft wide and are around
70 years old.
